So I snuck away into the office this morning (the door was open) for a few minutes to myself (OK, it was more like twenty). I thought I would re-design my blog background and banner.
I came downstairs feeling very accomplsihed by my small task, only to find an entire bag of pocorn kernels on the rug in the living room, and butter smeared on the Ironman toy. These were two items from last nights Pinewood Derby (promise I'll post pics, maybe when they're asleep) that I neglected to put away, OOOPS!!
They were so quiet in their mess making.
When the cat is away, the mice will play!!

Mother's Day Brunch
The best part of preschool, is by far the Mother's Day Brunch.
I was greeted at the door with a beautiful rose from my handsome little host.
I was then seated at a table outdoors (with the other pretty mommies) and my order was taken for my beverage of choice (orange juice or water).
Here are the boys waiting for the orders to be filled.
I then feasted on crepes, and poached eggs with canadian bacon. (delish)
For dessert we enjoyed chocolate covered strawberries, lemon squares, and scones with lemon curd (even more delish)
The kids then sang to us all the sweet mommy songs from Primary
"Mother I Love You, I Love You, I do"...
The final surprise was a special treat, made by my little guy. A card with a picture of me on the front, and then his handprint with this sweet saying,
A piece of me I give to you
I painted this flower to say, "I Love You"
The heart is you, and the hand is me.
To show we are friends, the best there can be.
I hope you will save it, and look back someday
at the flower we shared on your special day.

Palm Springs
Friday afternoon, as Dave walked in the door returning from his latest WA trip, we packed up the car and ushered him into the van for our weekend adventure.
Dave's parents had a time share starting that day in Palm Springs, and we decided to drop in on them, and enjoy some much needed R&R in the sunny desert, and in the cool pool.
Saturday morning we visited the Palm Springs Air Museum and the kiddos had a blast.
We saw tons of old planes, and were even able to climb inside a few..
When we returned, we swam, played tennis, feasted on great food, and enjoyed wonderful company. We also watched movies, napped, swam some more, and had a great time!!
Thanks G&M for a great weekend!
